Six new trustees join WCVA board
The election ran from 30 October to 13 November and included a
record 25 nominations, featuring a diverse range of candidates from
across the sector.
The results of the ballot were announced at the WCVA Annual
General Meeting and Lecture on 22 November and approved by the
members present.
126 member-organisations voted in this year’s election, which
was the first ever to accept votes and calculate results
online.
Full members of WCVA can nominate and elect members to the
board. The Board can only hold 16 members at a time, and it is
legally and financially responsible for the whole organisation.
They meet four times a year to discuss how the charity can deliver
its mission, vision and goals.
The new members joining the board are as
follows:
Rocio Cifuentes
Chief Executive, Ethnic Youth Support Team (EYST)
Liz Girling
Assistant Director, Consultancy, National Trust (Wales)
Sara Moseley
Director, Mind Cymru
Joe Stockley
Researcher, Diverse Cymru
Helen White
Chief Executive, Chester Voluntary Action
Kate Young
Director, All Wales Forum of Parents and Carers for People with
Learning Disabilities
Also re-elected to the board were:
Lindsay Cordery-Bruce
Chief Executive, The Wallich
Fran Targett
Director, Citizens Advice Cymru
Thank you once again to everyone who voted, nominated and ran
for election to the board. We look forward to working with our new
trustees!
We’d also like to thank the hard-working and dedicated trustees
that have stepped down this year for their commitment to WCVA and
the wider 3rd sector.
