A renewed focus on housing and support at VODG
Many VODG members rely on access to good quality housing to deliver services, and some are direct housing providers too. VODG is renewing its focus on housing and support and as a first step is establishing a network to bring members together to share ideas and experiences, and to explore opportunities for collaboration. This development follows from VODG’s membership engagement which has identified a number of key issues for voluntary sector organisations in relation to housing:
- Welfare reform and the impact of Universal Credit changes on tenants
- Issues surrounding Housing Benefit and supported housing
- Access to capital for housing development
- NHS capital charges and grants
- Considerations in separating housing from care and support
- Opportunities for collaboration such as working with development partners and shared asset management functions
- Property related health and safety
The inaugural meeting will take place on 7 May (in London) and VODG members can register to attend via this link.
