VODG launches member workforce survey

VODG has today launched an important VODG member survey aimed at exploring the challenges currently faced by members in relation to their workforce.

The survey covers key areas including recruitment and retention, challenges around service delivery, the impact of the EU Exit, mandatory COVID-19 vaccinations, and sleep in payments.

Findings from the survey will be used to evidence the impact current workforce issues are having, and will continue to have, on the provision of services for disabled people and represent the ‘live’ issues faced by voluntary sector providers.

Dr Rhidian Hughes, Chief Executive of VODG, said:

“Workforce challenges for VODG members, and the sector, are long-standing, and recent external factors and policy developments have only served to intensify these challenges and increase concerns about securing and maintaining a high-quality and sustainable workforce.

“It’s crucial for government, as it turns its attention to social care reform and seeks to develop policies related to the social care workforce, to understand the challenges facing providers from across the entire sector. This important piece of research will help policymakers and wider stakeholders better understand the ‘on the ground’ reality for organisations delivering vital services to disabled people and their families.”

Full details of the survey have been sent to VODG member chief executives.
