Catalyst Cymru: Resilient Heritage open to applications
WCVA is inviting voluntary heritage organisations in Wales to apply for dedicated development support from our Catalyst Cymru: Resilient Heritage project. A few places are still available on this popular project.
We have funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund to work with voluntary heritage organisations from across Wales, providing them with free, in depth and dedicated coaching to help their organisation to develop one or more of the following areas of organisational management: governance, business planning, fundraising and income generation, marketing and social media, impact measurement and reporting and project management.
Due to COVID- 19, we expect that the support provided for the foreseeable future will be a blend of online meetings, telephone and email support – whatever is most appropriate for the needs of the organisation.
The project is funded until June 2021.
To be eligible for support from Catalyst Cymru, organisations must:
- Have charitable purposes. Eligible organisations include unincorporated associations, community groups, registered charities, CIOs, CICs, Community Benefit Societies) Non-charitable organisations may apply in conjunction with a charitable organisation. For example, a partnership between an Unincorporated Association and a local authority who are supporting the UA to establish a charity to manage a heritage site would be eligible. Local authorities will not be accepted alone. NB: CICs must be limited by guarantee to be eligible.
- Have a minimum of three trustees or directors in line with best practice and Charity Commission requirements.
- Heritage must feature in your charitable purposes, either explicitly or implicitly. Simply working out of a listed building, for example, does not meet these criteria – the organisation would need to be weaving the heritage of the building into their day-to-day activities.
- work in one or more of the following areas of Heritage
- Buildings and Monuments
- Community Heritage
- Cultures and Memories
- Land and Natural Heritage
- Industrial, Maritime and Transport
- Museums, Libraries, Archives and Collections
- Any museums applying to the project must either be accredited, or known to CyMAAL (Museums, Archives, Arts and Libraries Wales) as working towards accreditation
In addition to the coaching support, the project will also deliver an open learning programme and develop a peer support network for voluntary Welsh heritage organisations
