Delivery and Compliance update

The delivery and compliance group is made up of cross sector representatives involved in the delivery of European Social Fund (ESF) and European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) operations.

The voluntary sector representatives are Tessa White, from WCVA, and Joanne Jones, from the Wales Co-operative Centre.

At the most recent meeting the sector was asked to feedback on the effects of Covid-19 on the delivery of EU funded projects. The following key points were highlighted –

  • Engaging with business is proving challenging in the current environment
  • Some organisations have experienced a significant reduction in the number of referrals, which will impact on delivery
  • Some organisations, particularly those supporting participants with additional and/or complex needs, are finding remote delivery challenging and it will impact significantly on targets
  • Moving delivery online has been problematic for some – labour intensive, lack of resource and necessary skills

The sector is working hard to address these issues and we are constantly monitoring the ongoing effects of Covid-19 on delivery of projects to try and identify solutions.

If you are a voluntary sector organisation facing issues in relation to a ESF/ERDF funded project (be that through one of WCVA’s European Funded projects such as the Active Inclusion Fund, Social Business Growth Fund, Community Asset Development Fund or through projects run by other third sector leads) and would like to talk to someone to identify possible routes of support please contact us in the 3-SET team – we are here to help.
