What do I have to do?

WCVA is the national membership organisation in Wales supporting
charities, voluntary and community groups, social enterprises and
volunteering, also known as the third or not-for-profit sector. Our
vision is a future where the third sector and volunteering thrive
across Wales, improving wellbeing for all.

The Board of Trustees is the governing body for WCVA and is
legally and financially responsible for the organisation. They set
the policy of the charity, determines corporate strategy, including
setting key strategic objectives, and makes major decisions about
finances.

You can find out more about being a trustee here
.

Our Board meets four times a year during office hours in Cardiff
and trustees are reimbursed for out of pocket expenses.

This is an excellent opportunity to truly affect change as a
decision-maker at Wales’ primary third sector membership
organisation.

Equal Opportunities

WCVA wants to build a strong and diverse Board of Trustees that
reflects the communities it serves. Diversity can encompass a
wide variety of characteristics including age, gender, ethnicity,
disability, sexuality, religion, nationality, experience and
skills.

We welcome nominations for individuals from all backgrounds and
would particularly encourage nominations from young, disabled or
Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic candidates, areas that are
currently under-represented on our Board.

Previous board or trustee experience is not needed as you will
get the chance to learn about the role from the great training and
support provided by our members.

Nominations

To be considered for the position, you must be nominated by a
member of WCVA (although nominees do not have to be WCVA members
themselves).

Each member may nominate up to two people. The agreement of
another member as seconder should also be obtained.

If you are interested or are a member of WCVA and would like to
