These free events will share experiences from projects using
nature to deliver better health, recreation and skills whilst also
protecting our natural resources and wildlife for future
generations.  You’ll also hear from funders and support bodies
that can help you do the same.

Who are these events for?
These free events are for volunteers or staff from any
organisation wanting to start or develop an environment project to
protect biodiversity, minimise waste, enhance green space, protect
against flooding, improve health or any other activity that will
have a positive impact on both environmental and community
well-being.

Learning outcomes:

• Understand the policy framework around natural resources in
  Wales
• Learn about setting up and running a nature-based community
  project from practical project examples
• Find out about grant funding available for projects and
  organisations to benefit nature and communities in Wales
• Increase your knowledge of good governance, networking, and
  publicity support available to groups

are, why we are here and the information and support we offer

10:10 – Groundwork Wales: Changing Places, Changing
Lives
– Building Wellbeing and skills using the great outdoors (and
Tesco Bags of Help!)

(Carmarthenshire) – Welsh Government:
Working with Nature to Build Health and Prosperity
– Gain an overview of Wales’s Environment Act, Natural Resources
Policy and the role of community organisations and public bodies in
helping to implement them.

(Wrexham) – Llais y Goedwig, Social Farms and Gardens, and
CLAS: Sustainable Land Use Support
– Hear about the support that Llais y Goedwig, Social Farms and
Gardens and the Community Land Advisory Service can provide to a
range of community green space projects in Wales  including
parks, woodlands, bowling greens, play areas, community gardens,
and wildlife or conservation projects.

(Cardiff and Carmarthenshire) – Natural
Resources Wales: Why should we get involved in Area
Statements?
– Hear about the work NRW and its partners are doing to involve
communities in making the most of our natural environment and
making sure it can continue to be enjoyed by future generations.
The session will encourage you to think about why you should be a
part of the conversation and how.

– An opportunity for attendees to take part in a round of short
2-minute presentations to share project resources or ideas

(Carmarthenshire) – Office of Future
Generations Commissioner: Simple Changes for Big
Wins
– Art of the Possible is a work programme that will shine a light
on great work that is improving well-being in communities across
Wales. Share your thoughts about the most effective steps that
public bodies can take to enhance a biodiverse natural environment
and support social, economic and ecological resilience for future
generations.

(Wrexham) – Business Wales: Getting to Grips with e-Tender
Wales
– Business Wales offers support with digital inclusion including
e-Tender Wales, the online portal through which the LDTCS and many
other schemes are run. Hear about upcoming workshops, other sources
of support and the benefits of becoming more digitally-savvy!

12.15 –  CVCs: Support on your
Doorstep
– Your local County Voluntary Council and supports community
groups and third sector organisations with good governance,
training, funding and development. Hear about the specialist
advice, support, and information that your local CVC offers.

12.30 – The Landfill Disposals Tax Communities
Scheme
– The LDTCS aims to make the places most affected by the disposal
of waste to landfill better for people and nature. Hear about the
grants available, who and what they are for, who can apply and what
to expect from the application process.

13.00 – Networking Lunch*
– with stands from groups and organisations

13.30 (onwards) – Landfill Tax Surgery
– also chance to ask questions to the 2-minute slot speakers
