New Funding for Enabling Natural Resources and Well-Being in Wales

Sustainable CommunityThe Welsh Government is set to announce a
significant new funding stream to enhance Wales’ natural resources
and well-being.

The scheme will be administered and managed by the Environment and
Communities Division on behalf of wider policy interests and will
focus on supporting cross-sector collaborative projects that will
 achieve a broad range of environmental, economic, social and
cultural benefits.

Supporting the delivery of
Prosperity for All: the national strategy
and the

Natural Resources Policy
, the scheme has 3 themes of
action under which grant applications can be made:

  • Developing, regenerating and broadening access to
    sustainable green infrastructure;
  • Improving the quality of the urban and rural built
    environment; and
  • Developing resilient ecological networks, areas and
    nature based solutions.

The scheme is expected to open in September 2018,
inviting strategic projects that can deliver at local, regional or
national level with funding being made available for up to 3
years.

Interested organisations from all sectors are encouraged to
explore potential project ideas and collaborations via an online
platform. Further information about the scheme, including guidance
and application forms, will be available from this site in the
