New report – financial impact of COVID-19 on voluntary organisations
In response to the current Coronavirus crisis, WCVA has been running a series of events entitled ‘Preparing for Different Futures’, exploring how the voluntary sector has been affected by and responds to the pandemic.
The first of these events looked at the financial implications of the crisis, with over 90 people and organisations represented.
Discussion in this session highlighted the immediate impact of the crisis with a loss of income for many organisations in the sector. Those who have had to stop activity altogether, such as those that rely on retail to supplement their income, have been particularly affected.
With a range of support options on offer at present, others were looking to the future with concern, highlighting that while they were currently stable the next six months to a year are critical.
