Making a bigger difference together

We’ve been going through changes at WCVA – and one of the main
developments has been to refocus our purpose as an organisation. On
that note, the theme of this year’s AGM will be ‘Making a bigger
difference together’.

In Wales, people have always come together voluntarily, not for
money or because the law tells them to, but because they want to
make a difference.

Voluntary organisations change lives every day, but to tackle
the big issues facing our society we need to come together,
organise and look ahead to prepare for the future.

Please join us at this year’s AGM where we’ll be discussing how
voluntary organisations can work to make a bigger difference
together.

Speakers at the AGM will include:

  • Heulwen Medi Thomas, Girlguiding Cymru

Heulwen Medi Thomas is the Assistant Chief Commissioner for
Girlguiding Cymru. One of her main tasks in her role is to
ensure the use of the Welsh language within the
    organisation.

She runs a Guide and Ranger unit in Machynlleth and has many other
roles within Girlguiding on a County level.

  • Tracey Evans, Outdoor Partnership

Tracey is the Chief Executive Officer of the Outdoor Partnership
and Welsh Government appointed Board Member of the Snowdonia
    National Park.

Tracey has defined and developed the strategic direction of the
Outdoor Partnership since its inception back in 2005 improving
economic, health and social well-being for communities in North
Wales, inspiring thousands of local people to become involved in
outdoor activities through participation, volunteering, employment
    and education.

Leading the organisation from an unincorporated organisation to a
well-respected Charitable company, Tracey has been highly
successful in sourcing £millions of external grant funding and
contracts to support the work of the charity.

Tracey has a long-standing interest and involvement in sport and
outdoor activities having been involved in competitive sport from
the age of seven. As well as an outdoor enthusiast, she is an
accomplished sportsperson having represented Wales in several
    sports and a commonwealth Bronze
    medallist.
