Voluntary Services Recovery Fund to close 19 March

The emergency COVID-19 funding for voluntary organisations in Wales is set to close to applications mid-March.

WCVA is currently accepting applications to the Voluntary Services Recovery Fund (VSRF), a grant scheme for voluntary organisations providing vital support during the COVID-19 crisis.

The fund is focused on reducing inequalities across society as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Many communities have suffered disproportionately, so actions need to take place to ensure a fair and just recovery. The funding will also provide the resources for the voluntary sector to embed safe practises to carry on delivering essential services across Wales.

Grants of between £10,000 and £100,000 are available for charities, CICs and (constituted) not-for-profit organisations of all kinds working at a community scale up to a national level in Wales. We’re currently accepting applications for six-month projects.

However, the fund will be closing at 23:59 on 19 March 2021. If you’d like to make an application before then, please get in touch on vsrf@wcva.cymru or call us on 0300 111 0124 (option 3) so that we can guide you through the process.

‘WE COULD BE REACHING A FUNDING CLIFF EDGE’

While WCVA is pleased to have done its part in getting much needed funding out to voluntary organisations in Wales, there are worries about the future.

‘We were glad to see our name amongst some of the big funders in the UK,’ said Matthew Brown, Director of Operations at WCVA. ‘But we do have concerns that as a sector we could be reaching a funding cliff edge.

‘We are grateful to Welsh Government and other funders that have financed our grants, allowing voluntary organisations to help the most vulnerable in society during this awful time.

‘However, we are worried about the uncertainty of funding over the coming months, so we’d very much encourage organisations to take advantage of Covid-19 funding through WCVA while it’s available.’

GET IN TOUCH BEFORE APPLYING

The VRSF team is encouraging organisation that wish to apply to get in touch to discuss their project ideas.

Please get in touch with the team on vsrf@wcva.cymru or call on 0300 111 0124 (option 3) to find out if your project is suitable and for more information on the application process.
