Welsh Government Environment Grants Co-Design Event

Environment Grant

The Cabinet Secretary for Environment and Rural Affairs has recently agreed to set in place anew programme of grant funding round following the completion of the current Environment and Sustainable Development (ESD) core funding inSeptember 2018. The newgrants programme will include both core and project / programmeelements in future and will focus more clearly on supporting the implementation of the recently published ‘Prosperity for All’ and Natural Resources Policy; specifically addressing the following areas:

  • Improvement in Local Environment Quality;
  • Nature-based solutions to improve social, ecological and economic resilience; and
  • Increasing Resource Efficiency.

The ESD Grants Team are inviting a range of interested stakeholders to work with them to co-produce elements of the grant programme going forward. Welsh Government hope to draw the vast experience and knowledge of the Third sector to help its design and suggest improvements that can be made to the current grant. Welsh Government colleagues from policy teams across Environment and Rural Affairs will also be involved in the events.

Welsh Government will need to limit numbers to one representative per organisation so that they have as many stakeholders represented as possible. However, should spaces become available Welsh Government will contact organisations again on a first come first served basis.
