New resource for voluntary and community organisations

Today, we launch a new area of our website designed specifically for the CEOs and trustees of small organisations in the voluntary, community and social enterprise sector.

Part of our mission at IVAR is to ensure that our work is useful and used by as many people as possible. When we re-branded in 2016 it became clear that, although we work closely with small organisations, our research is largely written for an audience of funders. Thus the idea for our new microsite was born.

We recognise the complexity of life running a small organisation – particularly in the current economic and political context. We also know that the leaders of small organisations are always pushed for time. So, we have brought together the voices of practitioners and researchers to tell the story of our findings – with the aim that leaders can find useful, usable insights in 90 seconds.

We have initially focused on four topics, but we will look to develop and expand these over the coming months:

1. Core funding

2. Cross sector working

3. Strategy and planning

4. Merger
